RNLI E-Class Lifeboat from Tower Pier out on exercise on the river Thames.

Although the station has since relocated from Tower Pier to Waterloo Bridge, it has retained the name of 'Tower Lifeboat'

The E-class has an aluminium alloy hull coated with a closed cell foam collar. It is powered by twin 240HP Steyr turbo-diesel engines and propelled by water jets. The 9m vessel displaces approximately 3.5tonnes and can reach a speed of 40 knots.
