I rarely travel without my camera nowadays. Although my main photographic subjects tend to live underwater, I have developed a passion for land photography as well.

Left to right and Top to bottom

1. My friend Brian Pitkin admiring the sunset on the last day of our annual trip to the Red Sea in June 2004.

2 & 3. Wakatobi, South-East of Sulawesi in Indonesia is home to an impressive amount of marine life. On land, the beach and turquoise water create the most exquisite scenery.

4. Cheeky monkey. Another wonder from Indonesia.

5-9. The South of France is another place that is close to my heart. Sunny climates, beautiful wildlife, relaxing pace of life and of course great wines make the Landedoc-Roussillon one of the most fascinating regions in Europe. The etang de Thau, near Sète is a magical place and Collioure, with its clock tower garding the harbour is simply stunning.

10-17. Too often, people think of the middle-east as a troubled region. Conflicts and civil unrest must not make one forget the beauty of the place. In the UAE, a bedouin enjoys a spot of sand surfing, close to the buzzing town of Abu Dhabi. In contrast, real estate promoters have just built a whole indoores ski resort in nearby Dubai.
