Tower of London poppies

Blood Swept Lands
and Seas of Red

Created by ceramic artist Paul Cummins, with setting by stage designer Tom Piper, 888,246 ceramic poppies are being planted by volunteers at the Tower of London’s moat. Each poppy represents a British military fatality during the First World War.

As well as being one of the most amazing pieces of public art I have seen, this display will raise money for 6 charities. Each poppy can be purchased for £25. If you’d like to purchase one, visit poppies.hrp.org.uk.
